Meet Dr. Lucy Lillie, D.C.
With a deep understanding of the profound impact a healthy nervous system has on the well-being of our entire family it is important to support and prioritize the body through chiropractic. Motherhood, while incredibly rewarding, can present unique challenges. By supporting mothers, we not only uplift them but also create a positive ripple effect throughout the home and community.
My own journey with pregnancy and as a mother, particularly navigating the challenges of restricted oral tissues in my daughter, ignited my passion for perinatal and pediatric chiropractic. This experience, combined with my formal education at Palmer College of Chiropractic, has shaped my approach to care. I utilize a gentle, tonal approach that emphasizes the body's innate ability to self-correct.
My expertise includes:
Network Spinal: A gentle, non-invasive approach that focuses on the nervous system.
Webster's Technique: Specifically designed to support pregnant women and prepare the pelvis for optimal birth.
Pediatric Experience Certification: Tailored to address the unique needs of children.
MLS (Mastery Love Service): A technique focused on specific and honoring manual adjustments
Palmer Package: Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, and Activator
I was first introduced to chiropractic after my senior cross country season. After a foot fracture, recovery, and pushing through pain to qualify for state my last year of high school I finished my last state cross country race minutes slower than usual and with a limp in my step due to intense foot pain. Trying to navigate through the traditional western medicine with my foot pain yielded no improvement. It wasn’t until I was told to check out the Chiropractor did I find any improvement in my healing and running!
The Chiropractor had then become my first stop when anything, literally anything pain related or not, showed up. This then set me on my path to discover Chiropractic in a way I could have never imagined, Chiropractic school.
Chiropractic school gave me a solid foundation of understanding the body and it’s mechanisms as a whole. It is where I learned the nervous system is what controls every function of the body and its where I learned what throws the nervous system out of whack (hint: Thoughts, Traumas, and Toxins)
Towards the end of my journey at Palmer College of Chiropractic my husband, Mitchell, and I found out we were expecting a daughter, Theadora. Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are such a beautiful yet pivotal journey in discovering who you are not only as a person, but as a mother. Since I had learned all about the body and how it was so intelligently designed I was able to truly support my pregnancy and prepare for birth through chiropractic adjustments and mindset and was blessed with the transformative experience of a homebirth. Chiropractic believes that innate intelligence is the power that controls and runs the body's functions, and that it's a gift from God. By stepping outside of the traditional hospital birth environment I stepped out of the way of interfering with innate intelligence and allowing my body to birth exactly how it was designed to!
Isn’t funny how life, if you listen, has a way of getting you exactly where you need to be. For me that is right where I am; in Cedar Rapids, IA prioritizing prenatal and pediatric care, women, mothers, and families!
